A quote from a church sermon, sent to me by my dear friend Peyton after I finally opened up to him about some things I had been going through over the past few years. I wanted to share this here mostly to remind myself of these words as I continue to move forward!

I’m still here.

I’ve been seriously neglecting this little corner of the web lately. In short, my life hasn’t exactly been smooth the last few months. Despite that, I’ve grown a lot, and I’ve come to some realizations that I’m confident will help me move on towards a future I’m happy with. I’ve been hurt, I feel taken advantage of, and I’ve discovered that certain people in my life aren’t who I thought they were. I’ve spent too much time wondering why. Wondering what I did to deserve this. In the end, I know it wasn’t about me- all I ever did was trust, love, and support.

At the advice of my dear friend, Amanda, I will not give this person another second of my life. I’m looking only ahead, and never back. I have so much to be thankful for- my loving family, my supportive friends, an amazing job. I’m looking ahead to the future, and I’m excited about all of the possibilities. 

I have a lot to look forward to in the coming months- watching old friends (and sisters!) get married, watching dear friends grow tiny babies in their bellies, and traveling with some of my closest friends. 2012, you may not have started off so great, but I have a feeling you are going to turn out to be a fantastic year.
